There’s a lot of stories that circulate claiming Alan was cold to his fans, I’d like to clear that up here.
Alan didn’t sign Harry Potter memorabilia more times than not because he knew that 9/10 times, it was going to end up on eBay and he despised that.
I met Alan twice in 2015. One time was at an event where he wouldn’t have been expected to stay and sign autographs.
It was about 11 pm after a movie premiere and interview and the man stayed for at least five minutes, signing for us fans, taking his time talking to whoever spoke to him and being very kind with a smile on his face all the while.
He wasn’t cold to anyone at all, not even when one fan became a little over zealous. Alan Rickman was extremely nice.
