I met him and the rest of KISS when I was 17. He was the last to get a signature from, and I thanked him for the music (KISS was everything to me growing up), and asked if I could shake his hand.
His face lit up, he smiled, and said, "I'm glad we could make a difference in you." He stood up, walked around the autograph table to me, put his arm around me, and gave me a real man's handshake.
The rest of the crowd behind me was just kinda in awe that he would even get up like that.
