On a bus in Stockport

I once saw him on a bus in Stockport (I live there and he's from there) wearing a silly winter hat. Didn't say anything but told my girlfriend when I got home and she replied nonchalantly "Oh, is he back? I've not seen him in ages". It turns out that he used to take his dog(s) to the vet surgery where she worked.
